A Dadbeats őszülő boomer dj-k laza szerveződése arra, hogy kedvükre mazsolázzanak az elmúlt 50 év táncolható elektronikus zenéiből és éppen aktuális kedvenceikből. Szerencsére nincs küldetéstudatuk, de azért remélik, a közvetítésükkel sikerül visszacsempészni a köztudatba mostanra elfeledett vagy itthon kevésbé ismert zenei stílusokat, időszakokat.

Ilyen az a 90-es évek eleji brit hullám, amely az akkori partikultúra „lejövős” zenei kísérőjeként bontakozott ki, egyszerre merítve az Ibizáról honosított 'Balearic beat' iskola szellemiségéből és a rave-mozgalom neo-hippi peace-love-unity ethoszából. Ez a mindössze néhány évig tartó vonulat egy "világegyetemesen” nyitott, sokszínű, ugyanakkor nagyon jellegzetes és sajátosan brit zenei szigetet hordott össze a legkülönfélébb irányzatok - streetsoul, electro, acid house, dub/reggae, ethno, indie, pszichedelia – elemeiből, valahol a downtempo-triphop-baggy-ambient house négyszögben. Ebből a közegből nőtt ki Andrew Weatherall, Paul Oakenfold, William Orbit és az Orb is; az ő korai produkcióik mellett a kortársak kincseiből válogattunk ehhez a mixhez.
